Studio 416

_studio416 is a Berlin audiovisual project built around the work of Torsten Litschko and Hendrik Vaak. Their joint activity goes back to the late 1990s and is based on an open studio concept: production, DJ sessions and visual experimentation treated as extensions of the same creative space.

Musically, the project moves between house, techno and dub techno, with a clear connection to Detroit tradition and the hypnotic repetition associated with Berlin techno. Rather than being tied to a single format, _studio416 works as a laboratory for music, audiovisual pieces and sessions focused on texture, groove and gradual development.
