Marco Carola

Marco Carola is an Italian DJ and producer from Naples whose career has been closely tied to the development of Italian techno since the early 1990s. He studied percussion before focusing on electronic music, and that rhythmic background remains audible in a production and DJ style built around groove and long-form flow. During the 1990s he founded labels including Design Music and released on platforms such as Plus 8 and Drumcode before moving towards a more minimal approach through Minus. His 2011 album Play It Loud! captured a period in which his sound opened further towards the space between techno, minimal and tech house. Carola also created Music On, a label and event concept with a long-running Ibiza residency. In 2026 he remains a regular fixture at Pacha Ibiza and continues an extensive international touring schedule.
