Yahaira

Yahaira is the alias of Yajaira Malavé, a Madrid-based DJ, producer, promoter and music curator. Her training began at the conservatoire before moving into DJing, and that background can be heard in a selection style attentive to dynamics and the development of a set. Her usual range starts from house and opens into acid, indie dance, neotrance and techno, with changes of register aimed at maintaining continuity rather than displaying eclecticism for its own sake.

Her production work is documented across three main labels: Melómana Records, Bonkers Records and AWAL Recordings. Together with Chilean producer JGR she released Fechorías EP on Melómana Records in 2023, including a collaboration with W.O.L.F.; the pair later followed with Fluor on the same label and Galáctica Oriental on Bonkers. Yahaira has also remixed material by Digital 21 & Stefan Olsdal for AWAL Recordings. That compact catalogue is enough to show a production line close to indie dance, acid house and mid-tempo club forms, although her profile still carries more weight in the booth than through an extensive discography.

In Madrid, an important part of her identity has developed around Gilda Club, a project she promotes. She is also linked to Gilda Haus as a music curator and to TRVZT Club as a resident. That combination of production, residency and programming has given her a position that does not depend on a single venue: her activity is split between DJ selection and the work of building contexts for other artists.

Her trajectory includes festivals such as Primavera Sound, Off Sónar, BBK Live, Brunch Electronik and FIB, alongside clubs in Spain and other European and Latin American cities. She has played venues including Sala Apolo, La Terrrazza, Dabadaba, Spook, KitKatClub, Renate, Kater Blau and Videoclub. She has also appeared on streaming and radio platforms such as HÖR, Kiosk Radio, United We Stream and Radio 3, formats where the breadth of her selection is particularly clear.

Yahaira's production remains relatively selective, but it connects coherently with her DJ practice: house groove, acid basslines, indie-dance structures and more restrained techno passages rather than dramatic changes of intensity. In 2026 she remains active in Madrid and other cities through Gilda Club, festivals and her own dates. Her profile is best understood through that combination of roles — DJ, producer, promoter and curator — rather than through a single genre label.
