Animal Farm: MARRØN with Quail & AXION at Sub Club

MARRØN's appearance at Sub Club on Friday 30 October brings a particular school of percussive, patiently unfolding techno to Glasgow. The Dutch DJ has become known for carefully shaped rhythms and long sequences that reward attention to subtle changes. Animal Farm's residents Quail and AXION join him for the collective's Halloween night, grounding the international booking in the local community that keeps the series alive. Sub Club's compact basement on Jamaica Street makes the relationships between the booth, the sound and the audience unusually immediate. This is a night for listeners who enjoy the craft of mixing and the space between beats as much as the obvious moments of release. It also gives Glasgow's own selectors a central place in the programme rather than treating them as an afterthought.
