Ascension x Space Invaderz: Samplifire, Shiverz & Roi*

Ascension and Belgian organisation Space Invaderz come together at Melkweg on 6 November for a bass-driven club night in the OZ room. Dubstep and drum & bass provide the foundation, but the artists on the bill approach those rhythms through different combinations of sound design and DJ selection. Samplifire, Shiverz, Roi*, Nersha, Ryllz and Creatcha share the programme with a three-way encounter between Atex, Chenzo and Ragner. Beginning at 23:30, the gathering gives the audience a chance to hear how several branches of bass music can live in the same room. The collaboration between organisers in the Netherlands and Belgium is part of the story too. It is through these connections that smaller electronic communities exchange artists, ideas and audiences and keep their musical cultures active.
