Binh All Night at Nowadays

On Friday 6 November, Nowadays hands the room to Binh for an entire eight-hour session. The Berlin-associated selector and producer has developed a reputation for close listening and unexpected connections between minimal house, electro and low-slung club rhythms. His Time Passages label and releases connected to Cabaret Recordings illustrate a fascination with records that reveal their details slowly. An all-night format offers him an unusually open canvas: the music can settle into a groove, change direction and return without the pressure of a rapid handover. The Ridgewood venue lists a 10pm start and a 6am finish, with a minimum entry age of 21. Nowadays also offers its familiar RSVP discounts subject to arrival times and space. This is not a stacked headliner bill; the appeal is hearing one distinctive DJ shape the room from its opening hours to the end of the night.
