Club 77: Phil Smart

Club 77 invites Phil Smart to its Sydney dancefloor on Saturday 31 October. Smart is a longstanding figure in Australian house and electronic music, with a career linked to the growth of dance culture in the city. The official programme lists music from 10pm until 5am at the basement venue on William Street, with pre-midnight guest-list entry available under the club's published conditions. The attraction is not a crowded lineup: a single experienced selector can shape a room across several hours, drawing on the records and relationships built through local nightlife. The organiser names no surprise guests or individual running order, so none is invented. This Halloween date shows the importance of continuity in a scene, with a veteran DJ returning to an established and relatively intimate space.
