Modeselektor unveil MDSLKTR at CTM Berlin with special guests

For Modeselektor, returning to the past does not mean staying there. Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary have gone back through almost thirty years of unfinished ideas and studio sessions to create MDSLKTR, an album that reconnects with the unruly energy of their early Berlin years. Its world-premiere performance takes place at CTM on 24 January, at Haus der Visionäre. The duo's music has always enjoyed breaking boundaries between techno, bass-heavy electronics and moments of wild theatricality. Gudrun Gut, another essential figure in Berlin's adventurous musical history, and Kabeaushé join the bill. The evening begins at 6pm. There is a pleasing sense of continuity to this gathering: several artists from different generations come together in a city whose electronic scene has never really stopped reinventing itself. Rather than looking back nostalgically, Modeselektor seem determined to find fresh possibilities in their own archive.
