Dominik Eulberg makes biodiversity audible at halle02 Heidelberg

Dominik Eulberg has always looked beyond the dancefloor for inspiration. A dedicated naturalist as well as an electronic musician, he listens closely to birds, habitats and the rhythms of life outside the city. In Prachtliebe & Wunderfakten, coming to halle02 in Heidelberg on 13 November, those interests become an audiovisual performance about biodiversity. Bird calls are recreated with synthesizers, remarkable natural phenomena appear on screen and electronic sound provides a different way into the stories of living ecosystems. The evening starts at 8pm. Rather than a conventional club set, this is an encounter between music, scientific curiosity and the images of filmmakers who understand how to reveal the natural world's small details. Eulberg's work is a reminder that electronic instruments can invite attention and wonder as effectively as they can make people dance.
