Funk Tribu brings retro-futurist trance to Gate’s Main Room

Funk Tribu headlines Gate Milano’s Main Room with Resa Utopica and GLÄDJEE completing the bill. The Colombian producer, now based in Berlin, has built his sound by reworking codes from 1990s and early-2000s electronics: trance, house, fast rhythms and direct melodies, with Phonky Tribu among the tracks that accelerated his international profile. In Milan, the two local names around the guest stop the booking from feeling isolated and connect it to the city’s scene. It is one of Gate’s dates that most clearly reflects trance aesthetics returning to techno contexts without simply reproducing a nostalgic revival.
