Psych Dreamers explores modular electronics, dub and noise at Berghain

Berghain has room for electronic music that does not fit neatly into its main techno rooms. On 20 November, the Kantine hosts Psych Dreamers, a night where modular synthesis, dub, noise and live experimentation come together. Fuga de Freón explores the acidic, psychedelic possibilities of machines, while Severine Beate builds more spacious, ambient-leaning textures. Keympi bring the physical presence of a band into a world of distortion, dub influences and DIY expression. Zoe McPherson and Tasio & Severine complete a programme that makes discovery part of the pleasure. Music starts at 11pm. The appeal is not that every act will sound alike, but that a small room can hold such different approaches to rhythm and texture. This is the more curious and adventurous side of Berlin's electronic culture.
