Sound Metaphors Festival opens with Mortazavi and Okkyung Lee

Sound Metaphors Festival opens its first three-day edition on 28 October at Kantine am Berghain with a programme centred on live performance. Mohammad Reza Mortazavi, Okkyung Lee and Olga Anna Markowska perform live, with Marylou completing the bill. The opening immediately establishes the festival's intended breadth, moving through percussion, experimentation, electronics, acoustic textures and listening forms that sit outside a conventional club night. Across 28, 29 and 30 October, Sound Metaphors moves through techno, ambient, dub, live electronics and leftfield music in several spaces of the Berghain complex. This first evening begins at 20:00 and acts as the more concert-oriented entry point before the two larger nights.
