Stereo MC's bring the groove of Connected to Melkweg

Stereo MC's crossed musical borders before it became fashionable to talk about genres blending together. Their breakout single Connected brought rap phrasing, funk basslines and electronic production into the same irresistible groove, followed by songs such as Step It Up and Ground Level. Rob Birch and Nick Hallam have kept performing and making music, carrying that distinctive sound through several generations of listeners. On 6 May 2027, they come to Melkweg's OZ room in Amsterdam. Doors open at 7:30pm. It is an opportunity to hear how music rooted in early-nineties club culture continues to work on a concert stage, with memorable vocal hooks and rhythms that feel both familiar and alive. There is still something special about hearing a track built around a simple groove fill an entire room.
