Reef brings bass-oriented club culture to Berghain with Darwin, DJ Storm, Esposito and Mala leading the main-room bill. DJ Storm's history with Metalheadz and Mala's importance within dubstep place two different traditions of UK underground dance music in conversation. Panorama Bar widens the night through Mad Professor, whose work is rooted in dub, alongside Carl Luis, Ila Brugal, ophélie and Sun People. The programme makes full use of the club's reputation for powerful sound while stepping away from its more familiar straight-ahead techno identity. Broken rhythms, low frequencies and dub experimentation provide the thread that connects the different generations and styles of this unusual Berlin line-up.
