Digitalism brings the bright sound of Optimism to Amsterdam

Digitalism have always made music for the space between a club and a band stage. Jence and Isi built their reputation with records that mix synthesizers, driving dance rhythms and the melodic punch of indie music, finding listeners on both sides of the divide. Their newer album Optimism turns towards warmer chords and brighter melodies, partly inspired by the grey winter days in which much of it took shape. On 5 November, the German duo returns to Melkweg in Amsterdam to perform the new material live. Their songs still carry the enthusiasm that helped introduce a generation of indie fans to electronic dance music. Doors open at 7:30pm in the OZ room. Rather than relying solely on the relentless energy of a DJ set, Digitalism can build moments that invite audiences to sing along and move at the same time.
