Hang Massive bring handpans and electronic soundscapes to Melkweg

A handpan can fill a room with an almost weightless sense of melody, and Hang Massive have spent more than fifteen years exploring what happens when that sound meets electronic production. Their performances combine live instruments, synthesizer textures and visuals, moving between moments of quiet concentration and expansive musical passages. On 17 April 2027 the project arrives at Amsterdam's Melkweg with a new live experience, following the Beyond the Horizon tour and the creation of fresh material for another album. The MAX room opens at 7pm. What makes this music distinctive is its refusal to choose between an intimate acoustic sound and the broader possibilities of electronics. The recurring patterns of the handpan can become both rhythm and melody, inviting the audience to listen closely while allowing the music to gradually change around them.
