The fastest route into Carl Cox's latest activity on AT-DJ.
Carl Cox is one of the key figures in British rave culture and in techno's international development. He started out as a mobile DJ in his teens, moving through disco, rare groove, hip-hop and electro before finding in late-1980s acid house the language that would shape the next phase of his career. His three-deck technique and presence in the first wave of British rave quickly made him a reference point in the booth.
During the 1990s he strengthened his relationship with techno through his own releases, compilations such as F.A.C.T. and an increasingly international schedule. In 1999 he founded Intec Records, later relaunched as Intec Digital, and for years used the label as a platform for his own music and for producers from different generations.
Ibiza occupies a central place in his trajectory. His residency at Space ran for fifteen consecutive seasons until the club closed in 2016 and helped establish a programming model where major names and emerging artists could share the same bill. Beyond that chapter, Cox has continued to develop projects including Pure, Awesome Soundwave and large-scale performances while maintaining a direct connection to club techno and DJ culture.
