Cerrone

Cerrone is the artist name of Marc Cerrone, a French producer, composer, drummer and DJ whose work was decisive in the evolution of European disco during the 1970s. His music combined highly physical percussion, orchestral arrangements and an early use of synthesizers and sequencers that helped open the way towards later forms of electronic dance music.

Love in C Minor and Supernature remain his best-known records, but his catalogue spans several decades of production, reinterpretation and collaboration. The influence of that sound can be traced through French house and later generations of disco and electronic producers.

Cerrone has also maintained a strong relationship with live performance and large audiovisual formats. His work continues to connect with contemporary club culture from a very specific historical position: rhythm, sensuality, expansive arrangements and the dancefloor as a central compositional space.
