Ian Core

Ian Core belongs to the part of techno culture that still understands music as something built through time, judgement and many hours of listening. A DJ, producer and the person behind Corex, his world is deeply connected to underground sound and to an understanding of the booth where selection matters as much as technique.

His sets explore the more hypnotic, raw and functional areas of techno, with particular attention to groove, tension and progression. Rather than chasing immediate impact, Ian Core develops sets gradually, working the blends and allowing each record to find its place. That philosophy also connects with Corex, the project through which he maintains a particularly close relationship with vinyl culture.

His work as a producer extends the same outlook. In 2026, “Entre Sombras” appeared on Ethnic Meeting's compilation III Anniversary Chapter Two, a track of almost six minutes that places his name alongside a new generation of producers connected to contemporary techno.

Much of Ian Core's identity, however, still lies in selection: researching music, finding records and building coherent sessions without depending entirely on current trends. His Corex Vinyl channel is another extension of that philosophy and of a relationship with physical formats that continues to hold an important place in the project.

Ian Core represents an approach to techno away from excessive exposure and closer to values that have historically defined its underground circuit: musical curiosity, personal identity, club culture and respect for the music as the starting point.
