Lis Sarroca is a DJ and producer born in Mexico and based in Barcelona. Her work revolves around house, electro and breaks, without treating those styles as sealed compartments. In the booth and the studio she combines classic tools — drum machines, rounded basslines, acid lines and 1990s house structures — with a contemporary reading of the dancefloor that is more flexible in tempo and texture.
Her discography began to gain consistency towards the end of the 2010s with EPs such as Shelter and Razz, before expanding through releases for a wide range of labels. She has released on Shall Not Fade, Chiwax, Smallville, SYNQ, Hot Haus Recs, Tresydos and !K7 Records, and has also appeared on Permanent Vacation compilations. That spread of labels fits her production approach: Sarroca can work with deep, direct house on one release, move towards electro or breaks on the next and then return to more classic structures without losing a recognisable identity.
One of the key chapters in her catalogue came through Shall Not Fade. No Wait EP, released in 2021, consolidated her presence on the British label, and in 2023 she returned with Our Times EP, a five-track release crossing house, italo, acid and breakbeat. Between the two came Spaze X EP — the first release on Maai — Driven EP and Ghost House EP. Sarroca herself also cites Maai, Tresydos, Smallville, SYNQ, Hot Haus Recs, Shall Not Fade and Chiwax among the central label platforms in her trajectory.
Maai has a particular place in that story because it operates closer to her own creative environment. Her relationship with smaller labels and vinyl catalogues has allowed much of her music to keep a very specific club logic, away from production aimed at more commercial formats. At the same time, appearances on labels such as Permanent Vacation and !K7 have widened the project's visibility beyond the strictly underground circuit.
As a DJ, Sarroca has played clubs, radio platforms and festivals in Spain and elsewhere in Europe. Her sessions for HÖR, The Lot Radio and Kiosk Radio show a broad selection spanning house, electro, breaks, acid and less obvious references to disco or techno. That ability to change musical language without losing continuity is one of the defining qualities of her profile.
In 2026 she remains active across clubs and festivals, including an appearance at Dantz Festival. Her trajectory now rests on more than a single release or label: it is supported by a coherent catalogue of EPs, a clearly defined network of European labels and a DJ practice that gives context to her own productions.
