Maceo Plex

Maceo Plex is the main alias of American producer and DJ Eric Estornel, based in Spain and also known for the Maetrik and Mariel Ito projects. His career began in the US electronic scene during the 1990s, first around techno and electro and later through productions that incorporated house, tech house and more melodic territory. The Maceo Plex name gained particular weight with Life Index in 2011 and became the centre of a catalogue spanning Crosstown Rebels, Kompakt, Drumcode and his own Ellum Audio and Lone Romantic platforms. From Barcelona he has also developed radio, events and a discography that moves between direct club material and broader electronic projects. In 2026 he continues to release and tour internationally while Ellum remains active as his main label framework.
