Rene Wise

Rene Wise is the alias of British DJ and producer Andrew Shobeiri. Born in Brighton and now based in Portugal, he makes techno strongly centred on groove, percussion and the physical impact of low frequencies. His background as a drummer, influenced by his Iranian father, underpins a production style where rhythm carries as much weight as texture. He has released on Mote-Evolver, Blueprint, SK_Eleven and Bassiani Records, alongside developing his own Moving Pressure label. In the booth he favours long, deep sets with strong rhythmic continuity.
