A DJ platform earns trust before the first transition. Engine DJ 5.0 is interesting because it treats preparation, desktop management and standalone use as one chain rather than separate chores. The official downloads page lists Engine DJ Desktop and Engine OS in the current v5 generation. That is a quiet kind of progress, but for working DJs it is the useful kind: less anxiety between laptop prep and hardware playback.
