Compression Session

Compression Session followed Ben Klock's Berghain mix in November 2010, extending his exploration of different forms of techno. The three pieces take complementary approaches. Compression Session combines climbing synthesiser lines with tightly controlled drums; Static Test emphasises heavy, raw grooves; and Compression Session 2 layers warmer analogue textures over an energetic rhythmic framework. Together, they show how Klock can sustain intensity while allowing melodic suggestions to appear within the percussion.
