Andrés Campo

Andrés Campo is one of the most established names in Spanish techno. Born in Huesca, he started DJing at just 16 in bars and small clubs in his home city. What began as an early connection with the booth became an international career built from the dancefloor, with no shortcuts and many hours of music behind it.

A fundamental part of his story is tied to Florida 135. In 2012 he became resident at the legendary Fraga club, known as the “Cathedral of Techno”, where he shared the booth with major figures in electronic music and developed a skill that cannot be learnt solely in the studio: reading the crowd. His closing sets and marathon sessions, some lasting more than eight hours, gave him unusual freedom to work with tension, rhythm and energy.

His sound revolves around direct, forceful and physical techno, although it is never entirely predictable. Andrés Campo can move from accelerated rhythms and dry percussion into groovier passages, acid lines or brief melodic pauses without losing control of the set. He has impact, but also craft. That combination explains why he works equally well in a dark club or in front of a large crowd.

As a producer he has released music on labels including Second State, Intec, MOOD, Mindshake, Filth on Acid and Odd Recordings. He also launched EI8HT with Eats Everything, extending a career that goes well beyond the booth. His productions follow the same philosophy as his sets: tracks designed to provoke an immediate response on the dancefloor, with heavy bass, precise structures and groove always present.

His career has taken him to festivals and clubs including Tomorrowland, Awakenings, Monegros Desert Festival, Printworks and Fabrik, alongside many venues across Europe and Latin America. Even so, Andrés has maintained his connection with Huesca and with Aragón's electronic culture, a region whose club history is more significant than is often recognised outside Spain.

Andrés Campo represents a very specific way of understanding techno: close to the crowd, energetic and free of unnecessary posturing. A DJ shaped by long club nights, capable of handling major stages without forgetting that everything starts in the same place: a booth, a dancefloor and the connection between them.
