Ben Sims

Ben Sims is a British DJ, producer and label head with a central place in groove-driven techno. He began by playing hip-hop, acid and house before focusing on techno during the 1990s, developing a fast, physical mixing technique that often uses several sources at once. Across his career he has released on labels including Tresor, Drumcode, CLR and Mote Evolver, while also running his own platforms such as Theory, Hardgroove and Symbolism. His work as both DJ and producer keeps a clear connection to funk, rhythm and the Detroit techno tradition while remaining firmly rooted in contemporary club music.
