Ben UFO

Ben UFO, the stage name of Ben Thomson, is a British DJ and co-founder of Hessle Audio alongside Pearson Sound and Pangaea. His career has been built almost entirely through DJing and radio rather than through a catalogue of his own productions, something unusual in contemporary electronic music. His roots lie in dubstep, drum & bass and British rave culture, but his sets move naturally between bass music, house, techno, UK garage, jungle and other club hybrids. That breadth also defines Hessle Audio's work and its long-running presence on Rinse FM, where the label maintains a space dedicated to new dancefloor music and scenes from the British underground. Ben UFO is known for highly technical mixing and for constructing long-form journeys in which broken rhythms, four-to-the-floor tracks, dubplates and historical references coexist without losing dancefloor coherence.
