Bofirax

Bofirax is the alias of Barcelona-based composer, producer and DJ Adrià Serarols, born in 1993. His music sits between experimental electronics, club-oriented rhythm and a strongly tactile approach to texture. Analogue synthesisers, voice, guitar loops and field recordings regularly appear in his work, but the emphasis is on how those elements interact inside each piece: fluid layers, rhythms moving in and out of focus, and arrangements that can shift from intimate listening to dancefloor pressure without losing coherence.

His catalogue stretches back more than a decade. In 2015 he released Scattered Lines EP, following Uncountable Dots, while 2018’s Ephemeral LP made the balance between organic electronics, atmosphere and club structures especially clear. Further releases included DECADES EP in 2021, built around the passage of time and different tempos associated with each decade, Ode To Birds in 2023 and Invisible EP with Harvey Touch in 2024. In 2026 he presented FADING LIGHTS, alongside singles including Hold On, Plor and Catastrophic Day.

Beyond his own records, Serarols has composed sound works for installations and projects connected to Sónar +D and CCCB, as well as music for short films, advertising and theatre. His work also appears in the film Júlia Ist and in Malnascuts’ stage production Hardcore Propaganda. In parallel, he has performed on stage with projects including Maria Rodés, Paco Pecado and TWIN, and has produced other emerging artists from Barcelona’s music scene.

That overlap between composition, production and live performance is central to Bofirax’s identity. In a club setting he can work with repetition, low-end pressure and gradual rhythmic shifts; in audiovisual work he leaves more room for narrative and timbral detail. The same sensibility runs through both sides of the project: warm, mutable electronics shaped by an ongoing interest in emotion, technology and space.
