Kalte Liebe is the Berlin duo formed by Andreas Fischer and Eugen Schumann. Since 2020 they have developed a sound that crosses techno, EBM, industrial, new wave and a very physical form of German-language electronic songwriting. Vocals, dry synths and deliberately rough production matter as much as dancefloor impact, setting the project apart from much of the functional hard techno with which it shares a circuit.
Their first releases appeared as self-issued tracks such as EGO, Hautkontakt (Strap-On Mix) and Komm in Mich, before the catalogue expanded through work for labels and collectives within Berlin's scene. In 2021 they released Sucht & Drang on Nulleins Records and appeared on Vitus' Curse with Toxic Messiah. The decisive step came with Schall & Schweiss, an EP released by Voxnox Records in 2023 — also distributed through Hyper Dreams — whose four tracks came to define the duo's first major phase: Träume Ohne Wert, Schall & Schweiss, Rosen Sind Rot and Vergiftete Jugend.
That EP established an unusual blend within high-energy techno: rave structures, references to German EBM, punk drive and direct lyrics about desire, alienation and consumption. Later material kept widening that language. Always On My Mind, with Caiva, and 2025's Blaue Violine EP showed a more melodic and emotional side without dropping the rhythmic pressure. In 2026 the duo returned with wobistduhin? and its DISTORTED version, maintaining an active and increasingly recognisable discography.
Kalte Liebe have also built their own infrastructure around the project. In their early years they were linked to the launch of Sys.Ex, while later growth has been supported by their relationship with Voxnox and Hyper Dreams. That combination of self-releases, independent labels and wider distribution has allowed them to keep strong aesthetic control over both the music and the project's image.
Live performance is central. Fischer and Schumann do not present Kalte Liebe simply as a DJ set: they work with vocals, performance and live electronics, a format better suited to the character of their songs. The Träume Ohne Wert tour, their Boiler Room x Teletech appearance and later European dates placed the duo somewhere between concert, rave and club set. Their recent trajectory shows that the project works through both its dancefloor force and a vocal and visual identity that already carries substantial weight of its own.
