Helena Hauff

Helena Hauff is a German DJ and producer from Hamburg known for an analogue, abrasive and deliberately unpolished approach to techno and electro. Her development as a DJ was closely linked to Golden Pudel, where her selections connected acid, EBM, industrial music, post-punk and machine-driven electronics. She began releasing music in 2013, with a catalogue that includes Discreet Desires, Qualm and a series of EPs and mixes for labels including Werkdiscs, Ninja Tune, Tresor and Fabric. In the studio she often works with hardware and direct recording processes, retaining distortion, mistakes and movement rather than polishing them away. She also founded the Return To Disorder label, extending her work into curation. Her international reputation continues to rest equally on record-focused DJing and a highly physical production language.
